Note from Pastor Ray

As a youth pastor of 16+ years, as well as having been a church planter for 7 years, I have come to see and experience many youth ministry models that exist in the evangelical church. Many of these models unknowingly create a division between parents, youth, and the church. Typical evangelical youth ministry will create age specific ministries with little-to-no parent involvement and little-to-no partnership with church. As Bethel’s pastor, I began the process of changing this model, moving more and more away from a youth production/service to a ministry that spends quality time with youth students in creative outdoor environments and retreats. As those relationships with students grow, we offering discipleship opportunities to students who want to go deeper in their understanding of God’s Word and their faith. We aim to provide opportunities and avenues to incorporate parent and church body involvement in youth ministry. Our vision for Bethel Baptist is to be a family integrated ministry where youth, parents, and the church partner together for the glory of God and the spiritual development of us all. We believe that children, youth students, and adults are equally vital to the church’s health.
