Bethel Baptist Church

Founded in 1949, Bethel Baptist Church of Escondido first met in members' homes. Soon after a church facility was acquired at 11th and Redwood in Escondido. As people continued migrating westward in search for work, Bethel Baptist grew and soon planted another church - Broadway Baptist Church of North Escondido. God continued to bless Bethel Baptist and eventually outgrew the Redwood property. In the 1970's, Bethel moved to its current location at 855 Brotherton Road.

As a Great Commission church, Bethel Baptist has raised up and sent out international missionaries to Russia, Taiwan, and Papua New Guinea. Bethel Baptist has also supported domestic missions work by sending one of our pastors to be a missionary to the native American tribes in Kayenta, New Mexico. Teams have also been sent out on short-term mission trips to Uganda in Africa and Belize in Central America.

Locally, Bethel Baptist has served the community with outreach ministries to the homeless, the Vista jail, neighborhood schools, senior care facilities, Alternatives Medical Clinic, foster/kinship care, blood drive donations, and more.

Elder Led Church

Bethel Baptist Church is an elder led church. Our elder team is made up of staff (paid) and lay (non paid) elders. Each of these men are called to the biblical role of shepherd (pastor) and affirmed in their role by our church family. Our staff elders function as the primary pastoral team, providing oversight and leadership to all areas of ministry, while working collaboratively with the rest of the elder team, staff, and one another to shepherd and guide our church.

Family-Integrated Worship

All we do at Bethel Baptist Church is intended for the entire family. We believe the Bible clearly teaches that churches, individuals, and families are integrated, not segregated. This stands in contrast to modern churches that fragment families. We encourage all ages to worship together in our Sunday worship service and Tuesday Praise and Prayer nights. However, we also realize this may not be a current option for your family, so we have fantastic children ministry options for your children to be a part of.
